i just installed aprilaire 700 humidifier- by mistake i sent 120volts to humidistat and solenoid valve. now that i have made a 24 volt connection the solenoid valve will not function ( the humidistat seems to be sending 24v to the solenoid valve). have i ruined the solenoid or is there a repair i can make?

I am afriad you burnt out your solenoid valve since they are made to run on 24v than 120v.

You could order a new solenoid valve, or pick one up from a hvac dealer or wholesaler.

Check and see you might just be able to buy just a new coil for the valve and not the whole solenoid valve.
