10 yr old (or so) Kenmore d/wshr won't allow water to "enter". Any help GREATLY appreciated.

It sounds like the fill valve stopped working. There is also a screen on it that could be plugged up. Watch this post for more information.

Hi rrs814,
- there will be a solenoid fillvalve at or very near where the water line joins the machine. You will recognise it by the incoming pipe and 2 wires to the solenoid. Undo pipes and clean screens as Majakdragon suggested, then check terminals for continuity. Should be a small resistence. If open or short, then solenoid is faulty. :cool:
