Heres one! I collect 50' lamps and recently purchased a pair that someone painted the top tier of the lampshade!! The shades are of the fiberglas material that is laced on to wire hoops. How can I get the paint off? Will a regular paint remover take it off and NOT harm the shade?

Do not use regular paint remover. It will harm the fiberglass. Do not consider using a fiberglass safe remover either (no doubt, the lamp shade lacks gel coating). Guessing, acylic craft paint was used. I can think of a number of ways to remove the paint, each one progressively more difficult and potentially dangerous for the average person.
One step at a time: mix equal portions of TSP and Whiting (calcium carbonate), available at paint stores. Then mix in sufficient hot water to make a paste. Apply 1/4" layer to the painted areas, keeping it off existing metal. Wait 20 minutes or so, then remove (an old soft toothbrush may be helpful). This is safe for fiberglass, but do wear rubber gloves. If repeated applications do not work, repost and we'll go to the next step.
