Is it possible to refinish a kitchen table that has a veneer top. There are some scratches and discoloration there and I would like to re-do it.
Any ideas or advice??

Wood and wood veneer tables are refinished alike. Just strip the old finish with any of the popular brands of chemical stripper, following the directions on the container to ensure proper neutralization. Stain the color or your choice, then finish with a durable clear finish such as polyurethane. Discoloration will be removed by the stripping process. By the time that the surface is prepared for staining, any scratches will probably have been removed.

Hope this helps.
