I got a new water softener installed today. After the man left I hear this constant loud drip in the floor drain. I thought it was the water softener.
After closer inspection it's the furnace drainpipe? The drip noise stops when the furnace shuts off. When I shine my flashlight down the drain dole I hear the drip but can't see it. The water at the bottom is very still.
What the heck is going on?

If you're sure you don't have a high eff gas furnace do you have a humidifier? If there is a/c is the drain trap got water in it.

The water softener guy came out. We could here it but nothing was coming out of the drain pipe for the furnace. We moved the pip over a 1/4" and the sound stopped.
Thanks
