I have a house that originally had a 6' wide pocket door, but sometime in the past the door was taken out and replaced with a 30" wide pocket door and the door opening was framed in. I am in the process of remodeling and have opened up the wall so the original doorway is there. Only problem is that I cannot buy an off the shelf 6" wide pocket door. I have found some antique french doors that would work great if I combined them into a single pocket door. Has anyone ever joined two doors together to make one larger door? I was thinking about running a long piece of wood across the top of the doors, adding some biscuits in the center and maybe a smaller piece of wood on the bottom. Anyone have any thoughts onthe subject.

I would think that from the practicle point of view, opposing 3' doors will be far more sustainable.
