I need my living room, approx. 12/24'(inc. ceiling, 4 windows), staircase hallway and risers only painted. Probably no more than 450-500 sq. feet. I would do it myself but I travel frequently and have little free time. Any idea what this routine job would cost v. finding time to do it myself, and is this job too small to interest a professional painter/contractor? Thanks!

A professional painter might be the direction to go. Count on paying $15 to $ 22.50 an hour for what sounds to be a day/day and a half size job. You are probably looking at spending three to four hundred dollars with materials. Find a good painter, get refr.etc.. Save yourself a headache. Painting takes a lot more tools than a bucket and brush ( tarps, drop clothes, plastic, brushes, roller frames, extension poles, wall patch, caulk, good lighting, and good paint...Benjamin Moore )
