Hi-
Our porch lights on our townhome are the type with a white glass globe that screws into place over the bulb. We keep them on all night for security purposes. I've looked for energy-saving bulbs for them, but all of the packaging says not to use in enclosed fixtures. Do they make any fluorescent-type energy-saving bulbs for enclosed fixtures?

I suggest you look for new fixtures. They are cheap enough that it won't take long to recover the cost.

Ah, but we're in a townhome. That means strata council and "You Must Conform". Fixture changing isn't an option.
