We have a Thermador CT227N double oven. A few months ago we started getting an E2 error message at random times. Sometimes it would occur when the oven was on, sometimes it would start out of the blue (in fact this morning it started at 5:45 AM). For a while we were able to reset it as suggested in the troubleshooting section of the manual.

Recently that has become more difficult, and then a new problem appeared--when you turn on the oven the display comes on, but the element does not come on.

We decided it was probably time to break down and get it serviced. I scheduled an appointment about a week in advance which ended up getting postponed to Saturday afternoon. When the service man finally called he started into the "I don't know what that error code means, do you know what it means" and "I don't know if I should waste a service call when I don't know what it means". I believe this was a case of I don't want to work any later on a Saturday. This was, by the way, a factory authorized service center who had a detailed description of the problem in advance.

Needless to say, I am not going to use them and plan to called one of the other authorized repair shops on Monday. However, I would prefer to be more educated this time when the service person comes out.

By the way, so far this is only occuring in one of the ovens.

Is anyone familiar with this error code, and of so could you share any info about it that might be usedful.

Many thanks.

Sue
