I'm using Space Balls in making raised panel doors for the first time, and I can't find any info on how much space to leave. Normally I would leave 1/6" top and bottom, and 1/8" side to side, but this doesn't seem to leave much room for the 0.26" space balls. Anybody know the answer? Thanks.

This is directly from the F.A.Q. page of the official Space Balls website.

Question: How much space should I leave around my panel?
Answer:
1/8 of a inch is suggested per side and top and bottom. During the drier time periods you could allow for an addition 1/16. This would allow even more expansion space if the panel is exposed to excessive to extreme humidity changes.
Question: How many balls per door?
Answer:
We suggest two balls per side, and top and bottom. If the door is extra wide we suggest putting 3 balls in the top and bottom rails, possibly 3 on the sides if the door is very tall or wide. This would allow for the additional weight of the panel.
