I am going to be sanding my floors this weekend.. .a coworker of mine said when he did it he put down some bleach mixed with water on the floor and sanded, and it removed stains and also gave the wood a nice light color...
Is this something I should try? because i do have a few stains on the floor and I would rather have a light wood floor than staining it dark enough to hide the present stains...
Thanks.

I'm going through the same situation. I've heard horror stories about the wood bleaching technique.
I opted to do a light Pickle technique ( white wash) And then add 3 coats of Moisture Cured urethane. The final results are awsome, but you shou do a test on a sampile piece.
Do some research and find someone who specializes in the Pickling technique. Too many chances for mistakes.
