I have a buffet that has mouldings on the drawer panels and doors. There are a couple areas where the mouldings have been broken off. I was wondering if there is a way to find this moulding and replace it. Then I would need to match the finish. How do you acomplish this?? I can email photos if anyone has any ideas. Thanks for your help!

Well, maybe it can be replaced
And yes, then you would need to match the finish
Either one of which can be a daunting task
More so than you might think, to actually get it right
Off hand I'd say take it to a pro

I'm sending you a private message so you can send some photos
I'd like to take a look, maybe it will be an easy one

How old is the buffet?

I am having a problem getting the pictures to this computer. I will send as soon as I can. Have you ever hear of the furniture medic?? Are they any good? I have no idea how old this piece is, what type of finish or what it is made of. Thanks for the advice.

Furniture Medic is a franchiser. You should investigate the reputation and craftsmanship of the specific operator in your area.

You might also try talking to antique dealers, furniture dealers, and movers to get recomendations on who they use.

I think your buffet can be fixed
If you can find a source for that trim
If not it'll have to be made, but that's do-able

W/o seeing it in more detail, I'd say a little more of the trim (perhaps the whole straight, perhaps just past that split and down to the corner) has to come off and a replacement fitted and attached

Then, or probably before it's attached, the finish will have to be matched

Some of those people Joe Marshall mentioned might give an estimate
you could always take off the door and bring it to them
And I don't know about out where you are but around here I'd add furniture strippers and cabinet makers to the list

Some furniture refinishers are wood savvy and can replicate trim. Also, cabinet and furniture builders would have the proper routers and tools to replicate trim and finish. Check your Yellow Pages and ask around. There are some very gifted wood workers around.
