:wall: Please help. For a while the water (in the door) on my kitchenAid fridge was working on and off. If you shut the door just right the water would work as well as the light... Now only the Ice works and the light and water will not work on the door. I replaced the filter and the valve. (dont ask me why I should have known with the light not working something else was wrong.) I need some help I dont know where to look next. Is there some other test I can do. I cant get the light to even flicker on the door and the bulb is good I checked it in a working light.
Thanks

hi gex5,
-there should be a water dispenser switch and a light switch in this same area as the valve. depending on how they've routed the wiring, a fault in either switch, or the wire between them could cause this. I would try by -passing both switches with jumpers to see what happens. UNPLUG while you do any wiring work.
Do it Right - Do it once.

:wall: Thanks for your help. I bypassed the switch on the door with a jumper for the light. I figured that would be the easiest to test since a lot could be wrong with the water. No Luck. Looking at the wiring it seems they trace back to a microswitch or a small square something on the left side of the dispenser behind where the switch area is. Im not sure if this could be the problem or not. It only seemed that the water and light went to this area the switch for crushed or cubed did not go to the small black boxes. should I try to bypass these or are power reducers???
still no luck seems like no power. I can hear the click of the microswitch for the water but no water and still no light.
Thanks Gregg

Hi Gregg,
- I can't find a cct. diagram for your fridge yet. I'm going by details and diag, for a Norge which is quite similar. There is apparently a small heaterwire in this area too, powered by the same supply wire. Is it possible the heater has failed and frozen up the water pipe ?
I'm going to check further for your cct. diag. Please post model#

Here is the model number KSFK25FKBL00 KITCHENAID
It would work intermittent. When I would shut the door the light would come on and the water work. if the light (the one on the dispenser) was off the water would not work. Now it never comes on no matter how many times I open and close the door but the Ice works. I did check the the water hose behind the crisper no Ice. The Ice maker is working and the Ice side of the dispenser works. Thanks again for your help

I need to see if I can get a wire Schm. for my Kitchen Aid fridge. the wire that goes up the door is not working (blue with black chaser) I am guessing since the water and the light do not work. I see the disconnect at the bottom of the door but I am not sure how to check continuity at that location. I had a service person out and they were on the phone for two hours and got no where. At the end they say must be a problem in the door and it is foamed in so you are SOL. Not sure if anyone can help but thanks for any reply.
