My grandparents want to replace their vinyl floor in the kitchen with Wilsonart Classic laminate flooring. I don't know much about this stuff, but I am thinking this might not be such a good idea. If there is a liquid spill, won't it seep through the unglued joints and cause all sorts of problems?
They are looking for a floor that will stand up to a small dog and the wheels of a rolling office chair used to get around the kitchen. Does anyone have any suggestions for something else in the price range and be a DIY installation that would fit the bill? Area is about 200 sqft. TIA

How long could the spills be sitting there? An occasional spill cleaned up quickly will not be a problem. My dogs slobbered water on the floor that has sat for awhile and it never caused a problem. The laminate is a great, inexpensive fit for a kitchen. And you won't have to worry about the dog scratching the floor and any wheels will roll without a problem. It probably is a good fit for your situation.
