I now have an 14 year direct vent nat. Gas 50 gal. hot water tank.
It has worked fine, up to about aweek ago. It is a rental, they are going to replace it, should I get a direct vent or a power vent, and why?

Thanks
Rick

Several things to consider. If it is not necessary, don't install a power vent WH. They are expensive and service parts are difficult to find. If your present WH is direct vented vertically through the roof, a power vent is not required and is a waste of money. Power vent heaters are generally used when the vent is in a horizontal position or to a side wall. Bye the way, the 14 year heater served you well. Most don't last that long.
