My house was built in 1948. I would like to switch out the current bathtub faucet covers because the current ones have holes in them. However, I am having difficulty finding appropriately sized covers.
In order for the hole in the shower wall to be covered up, the replacement must be at least 2.25" wide at the base. The tricky part is the height- it must be ~1.75" tall... otherwise, it'll cover up the stem too much and the handle won't go on.
The big box stores don't carry them, and the local hardware store only carries faucet covers that are 2" tall. I would like to be able to find covers, so that I don't have to buy and install longer stems.
Any suggestions would be helpful.
