I've been looking through the painting forum, and it has been written countless times that to get a good finish when painting walls it is imperative to use not only good quality paint, but also good quality brushes. So I would very appreciative to hear what everyone considers the best quality equiptment. I've just bought a house and I'm going to repaint the kitchen, please respond quickly as right now it is so ugly everytime I go in there it puts me off my food.

a QUALITY PAINT JOB DOES REQUIRE QUALITY PAINT, QUALITY TOOLS AND QUALITY PREPARATION.
I prefer the top of the line Purdy and Praeger brushes and rollers. They are not cheap but will last a long time when taken care of. Expect to pay $15-18 for a quality brush. Wash new rollers out before you use them to make sure there is no lint.
If you are buying a caulk gun, buy a $10 dripless gun instead of a $1.50 gun. It makes that much difference.
And don't forget to buy a quality primer.

I would like to say that I 100% agree with R.L. Let your quality tool buying spree extend to the roller cover also. I use Prager and expect to pay at least $4+. I know it's hard to justify high dollar tools for a weekend project but if taken care could be the last you ever buy...Mike
