I need to reset the code but can't seem to find any info on this model. I read in another post that the ademco vista10 or vista 20 is the same ( http://forum.doityourself.com/showthread.php?t=79601 ) So I went to http://manuals.safewatchservice.com/ and sighned up. For some reason when I put in the pasword for the PDF's it says wrong password (yes I am sighned up and subscribed :( ) Can someone please help me ??

Sorry you had problems - I've been out of town for that past 4 or 5 days. Sometimes the easiest way to get the password is to copy and paste it.
Anyway, glad you found it.

Thanks SafeWatch (hope you had fun while you were away :) )
Though I found the user manual, I could not seem to find the Installation manual. I believe this would help me in fixing some problems I'm having.
It Seems to me when this was originally set up they set it up so the downstairs motion sensor would be armed in "stay" mode. This is no good seeing I made a studio apartment for my sister down there .
If you could help me out it would me greatly appreciated!

Programming the FA142C I gather is basically the same as the FA147C. You will really need an alpha keypad to do this especially if you want to change the motion to a "follower" instead of a "perimeter". You can do it from your installed keypad but it requires experience.
If you power down the whole panel by opening it up and taking off the AC power lead on the extreme left and disconnecting the battery then you can power it back up and get into programming. Power the panel back up by connecting the ac power back up to the extreme left terminal, plug in the battery and within 60 seconds go to the keypad and simultaneously push the * and # keys down until the display shows "20". If you get this then you are in programming. then push the # key and 20. this wil display a four digit number one digit at a time. This then is the installer code. You can change this code by hitting the * key then 20 and entering in a new four digit number that you want as the installer code.
Once you know the installer code then hit *99 to back out of programming and you should then have your regular display. You can then go back into programming by entering your four digit code pluse 800. After you do that you should get a "20". Once again back out of programming by hitting *99 to get your regular display.
If you can get this far then I can help you reprogram the motion sensor.
