I have an Aprilaire 568, and I am not getting any water through the outlet tube... at first I thought the strainer on the supply line side of the solenoid was clogged and opened it up to find there was no strainer!! (I had it installed by a "professional") When I turn up the humidity, I can hear the solenoid "click" but still no water! I had a big problem with my humidifier about a year ago, the plastic/rubber line on the discharge side of the solenoid cracked, and spilled water onto the furnice, shutting it off, then as itpooled in the bottom of the furnace the water tried to make it's way to the floor drain only to be lucky enough to find the gap between the supply/return lines of my A/C and dribble down to the ceiling below, saturating the ceiling drywall and allowing it to rain down in my livingroom! Do you think it is the little yeloow oriface on the discharge side of the solenoid? Or could stuff have built up within the valve causing the problem? Do I really need to have the strainer on the supply side? (I don't know if it will fit in there because the copper tube takes a turn right there) On the solenoid, there looks like there is a screw type device right in the middle of it, what is it's purpose? Any help would be appreciated!!! Thanks!

Did you check to see that you do have water right up to the valve?
If you do have water righ up to the valve, then the valve just needs to be cleaned.
I don't recall off hand if there are screen/strainers on these units?

Check out the saddle valve first on the water line start there, close it and open it then back off the nuts on the water line one at a time and see if you have water at each one. That screw should just hold the cover on the valve .

I think I got it working again... I took off the tube from the discharge side of the solenoid, and water came out of the little pinhole in the yellow orifice (is it suppose to be about a pinhole?). Once all the water drained out, I hooked it back up, turned it on and water started to come through again! About how much water should come out??? Should it be a drip, or like a stream?
Thanks again for your help!!!

The yello orfice is to have a small hole, that'll controls the amount of water to go though the system.. Make sure it's back on, other wise, your wasting water.
The orfice may needs to be soaked in lime away to clear off the lime.
Water coming out of the drain hose should have a small trickle.
