I need help! I just purchased a home with a Safewatch Pro 2000 system installed. I need to know how to reset the master code so I can use the system locally only. I have found the manual at the ADT's website, but of course that does not give sufficient information to reset codes. I would appreciate your help with this one, as the system does not make much of a style statement when not activated.

After the system is in programming mode (by pressing * and # after the power up reset), the installer code can be read by entering *20. The 4 digit installer code will be displayed. What's the next step to reset the master code? The owner's manual only specifies the programming procedure when the old master code is known. Specifically, to change the master code you suppose to enter the old master code + 8 0 2. Are you suppose to leave the programming mode by pressing *9 9? Can you please give the detailed instractions?

if you know the installer code you could always change the master code.
installer code +8+02+4 new digits twice.
installer code +8+02+4 new digits twice.

One other thing. With all ademco panels, when entering the code change sequence, it must be in one smooth entry. Delay more than about 3 seconds between keystrokes, and it will ignore you.
