I want to change my basement bathroom, it has a corner shower with a tray and I want to replace it with a bathtub. What kind of tub is best corner tub or standard 5 foot tub? And do I have to do anything to the existing drain hole? Can I use the drain hole as is or is this going to be a bigger project than I think? Can anyone help with there own experience and knowledge.

More than likely the drain configuration will need to be changed to adapt to your new tub.
You will need access to the backside wall that serves the new unit.
That way the drain can be assembled once the unit is put in place.
