I have a 3hp Briggs with magnetron ignition. I have a toggle type kill switch with a wire going to a head bolt and a wire squeezed between the spark plug wire clip and spark plug. When I crank the engine, it sparks inside the switch. I'm thinking that I hooked it up wrong and instead of going to the plug, the wire should go to the ignition system because the plug spark is too strong for the switch. With magnetron ignition how do you hook up a kill switch? I looked all over the internet and couldn't find any info. Thanks for your help.
You'll have to remove the engine shroud and locate the spade terminal on the underside of the coil. Connect this to the switch to kill the engine.

I'm not really sure what a spade terminal is, but I looked on the ignition assembly and see a clip/terminal thing that has 2 wires (one red and one green) comming off it. Is this what I hook the ground wire to?

well I had extra time, so I went ahead and hooked it up on that terminal that I thought was the spade terminal. I guess it was, because now the kill switch works wonderfully. I never thought it would be that simple. Thanks for the help cheese.
