I have an old dehydrator that slowly drys out food. It heats up to about 150F degrees max. Recently the spiral heating element broke in the middle. How do I repair it? Can I solder it since the max temp is low? The dehydrator is no longer made, so getting a replacement part is impossible, and to buy a new one of comparable quality would be too expensive. Thanks for your help!

Hi BenDRL,
- soldering that does not sound like a good idea. Apart from the likelihood of the solder melting, there must be some kind of insulation around the element. How would you replace that ? Better to look around a bit more to try and locate one.

Do it Right - Do it once.
