I've had a water leak into an exterior wall. I removed a section of drywall and discovered that the bottom 3 inches of about 3 studs are rotting. The middle stud is the worst. The ones next to it show some damage. The wall is at the base of an 18' foyer. What is the best solution to repair this damage? I've got stucco on the outside and am concerned about cracking it during the repair. Any thoughts?

How bad is the damage? If it's not too bad, you probably could get by with just allowing it to dry out completely and sister some extra studs. But if the damage is too bad, or dry rot has begun, you going to need to cut out the affected studs, sill, etc, which might be more than you want to tackle on your own in a load bearing exterior wall.
