Hi-
When we moved into our townhome, the bathtub surround had a border of decorated tiles. Unfortunately, the colours (grey and burgundy) are not the colours I want to use in that room. Can I paint the tiles or otherwise cover them with something? Different tiles, perhaps?

thanks,

You could try to remove them by cutting out the grout and popping the tiles off the wall. It may be a little running around to find replacement tiles the same thickness/size as your old tiles, and if you have a greenboard shower, you may cause significant damage to the substrate which would open up a whole can of worms. Another option would be to look in the yellow pages under bath tub reglazing and see about getting a quote from them to reglaze those tiles in a color you would like. Painting them with a tub refinishing kit would probably not hold up to heavy cleaning.
