I'm looking for a kitchen countertop material. I would like it to be easy, like ceramic tiles (no sealing required) but also in a single piece, like a slab of granite. Does such a material exist?

Yes.
There are synthetic quartz materials.
Pretty expensive, almost as expensive as marble or granite,
but way less maintenance.
Silestone, Cambria, and CaesarStone come to mind.
There are other brand names with pretty much the same product.
