My "designer" selected for my new master bath travertine tiles, 12x12 floor, 6x6 wall, and 2x2 mosaic shower floor. Questions about sealing!!
1. Do I seal prior to grouting?
2. Do I use a grout bag or float grout across the floor?
3. What is the "standard" size shower curb?
4. Standard grout widths?

:wall:

Thanks

1. Yes, seal it before and after grouting, Check the bottle for timing.
2. Use a float, the grout is supposed to fill in the "worm holes"
3. Most shower curbs are 5" high measured from the bathroom floor and 4.5" wide measured with the cement board on the top and both sides
4. The 2x2's are preset on a mesh, the 6x6 could go 1/8" and the floor would be 1/8 to 3/16" depending on how rounded or square the edges of the tile are

TGB, cement board on the sides? How would you install that without comprimising the lainer with fasteners? Thickness is right on, but I've always used cement over lath for the curb.
