I am trying to rehang curtains high on a wall above steel sliding doors. When I screw in the standards which hold the bracket, then put up the curtain rod, the standard and screws pull out of the wall. What do you recommend I do now? Thank you.

if you're just screwing into drywall, try using drywall anchors first. then screw into them.
