Toilets, Sinks, Showers, Tubs and Disposals - is it possible to fix a stuck kitchen sink sprayer

the darn thing won't turn off. I have to keep it pointed in the sink to avoid getting sprayed. it has been sticking for months. recently I took it apart and soak it in vinegar thinking it was calcium buildup. it worked better for a day or two, but now it won't shut off at all.

I'd rather not buy a cheapo replacement as this is a moan brand and rather slick design that matches the rest of the faucet - fairly new.

the plunger (which controls shutoff is plastic with a thin "c" shaped wire/half ring about it. is this something that can be replaced. would I be better off calling moan for a matching replacement. i can't call them until monday. i guess I could use a cheapo replacement to crutch thru the wkend.

HI uh-oh uh-oh, (i'm beginning to sound like Santa :p )

-as you probably know, all or most Moen parts are covered by warranty and generally free. (I say gen. as a few older parts are not) Most large plumbing or big box stores, HD for example, have Moen spare parts kits. Those parts are free to customers bringing in the old/broken part.
Try to dismantle and find the problem part and get it replaced. :cool:

It is probably the diverter valve in the faucet, but it may be the sprayer itself. Both can easily be replaced, which is what I would do (especially if you can get one free).
