What happens if a dark latex base paint, in this case, burgandy base is used without tinting? It is the color desired as is, but can says it must be tinted. How much tinting is required and in this case who knows what color tint. Paint bought on a close out.

It is possible to use the tint base for a dark color without tinting but most often you will find it is to thin to use.Tint bases are sold thin and with a small amount of space in the can to allow for tinting. As for adding tint,it would be the amount that brings the base to the color you want.Anywhere from a few drops to several ounces.I would not attempt to use base outside without colorant added.Newcote could give us more on this but I havn't come across any replies by him lately.Newcote where are you?
