I am looking for a way to reduce the noise from my shop to the upper living area. My shop is in the basement and has open floor joists. I don't want to cover them with fiberglass ans drywall. I would like to keep access to the pipes etc. Does anyone have any tips or know of products that can be placed between the floor joists to reduce or knock down the noise from the saws etc?

Access to those pipes and wires may also be a code issue so it's good that you're asking in advance. :D
Personally, I would look into some batt insulation in the joist cavities - at least under rooms where the noise is an issue. You can stretch wire across the joist bottoms to hold the batts and everything is still accessible. A drop ceiling would also help and look nicer - and still allow access if needed.
