smoking chimney/not from the top!

I have a stone chimey that appeaars to be smoking between the stones. Will a SS liner do the trick? How about a poured in ceramic liner? Do I have serious problems, like tear it down and start over?

You may have moisture entering the chimney through mortar joints. It would be best if you got an inspection to determine EXACTLY what the problem is. Heat escaping through mortar cracks could ignite any flammable material behind the brick. Good luck.
