I am buying an old 1800s farmhouse that had beautiful blue milk paint walls in the bedroom. Unfortunately, the seller thought another individual before me was going to buy it, so he let him make "improvements" to the property. I'd like to remove this mauve latex paint without damaging the blue finish underneath. Any suggestions? The raw surface of the wall is wood.

I doubt it can be removed without damaging the paint layer underneath. I would suggest matching the blue and repainting the room. A lot less hassle/headaches that way.
