I replaced my central kitchen lighting fixture with an antique milk glass fixture my uncle had salvaged for me. Of course, I had to rewire the antique, supplying a new inlet for the bulb and new wire (silver), and I installed it to the same copper wire the prior fixture had used.
I didn't believe there were many mistakes I could make, as there weren't any choices about which wires went where, other than a white and a yellow, and after instalation, the light worked fine for a week. Then the bulb blew and after I replaced it the light would not work. I checked my connections, and even reversed the wiring in the fixture, thinking perhaps the path would make a difference. It still will not work. Any thoughts?
