Hello,
Has anyone here ever built a cart with dual a-arm front suspension?
I'm having problems figuring out the steering.
I've been, and still am searching for information on the subject.
I even thought about buying plans just to get the information I needed.
So far I have only been able to find plans that have this type of suspension at deasertkarts.com, but 48 bucks is a bit steep for plans, especially when I only want information on the front end of the cart.
I will keep working on the plans I have been drawing up, maybe I will eventually figure out the problem myself.
But, if someone has this type of experience, and would like to share.
Thanks,
Thoran

Well I'm currently working on a go cart with A arm suspension. I havent connected the steering but will try in the next day or 2 if you would like to see some pics unless you already figured it out.

I used the front end off a quad. It had the whole setup I needed including the disk brakes and I really need those considering it's powered by a 800cc 145hp 2stroke tripple. I went to a golf-kart shop and pulled a rack and pinion from a clubcar. I used that one because both end of the shaft are threaded and I used heim joints and aluminum tube for tierods. The ratio in the rack and pinion is great for high speed control.
