I have a consolodate dutch west/federal airtight woodburning stove # 224ccl and the catalytic converter needs replacement. I have checked with several distributers and the price is around $140-160. One site: stovecombustors.com has one for $70, BUT I am concerned because theirs is only half the thickness (6" round which is the same, but 1" thick instead of current 2".) Here is their claim: There is a BIG Difference between the "Old" Honeycomb Combustor and our CS-200 Series Combustor. The Honeycomb Combustor is two or three times as thick as the CS-200, yet the CS-200 is more efficient in removing emissions and ensuring that your woodburning appliance operates at peak performance. "
Before I buy I'd like to know if anyone has had experience with this "new" type of catalytic combuster.
Thanks.
