I am not handy, and I'm looking for an inexpensive way to fill the holes in my kitchen. I have a big hole in a built in pantry type cabinet where my built in oven used to be, and another one between my new stove and my fridge, where my built in range used to be. I checked my local warehouse type hardware store, but none of there premade cabinetry fit my measurements. What's a broke girl to do?

Hi chefwitt,
Welcome to the forums.
Your question is kind of difficult to understand exactly what your situation entails, but is sounds like you need to have some custom cabinetry built.
Custom cabinetry is not only for people who want cabinetry that is out of the ordinary, but also for people who need cabinetry built to match existing cabinetry, but in sizes that are different than the standard sizes.
Finding these inexpensively will be very difficult. :wall:

Are these "holes" just empty places where the stove & oven used to sit? If they are, have you looked for replacement appliances that will fit in the existing holes? If you have the stove and oven in different locations, then you're looking at some custom cabinet work to fill those holes and make it look like it was there all along.
In your post, you used the words "inexpensive" and "broke". As someone who has dealt with this situation before, I see red flags because the solution(s) won't be inexpensive. Find someone who does custom cabinetry and ask them for an estimate and be prepared for sticker shock.

We have a built in oven that we plan on replacing and as a temporary,
low cost solution, we plan on installing some shelving that can hold cans
and pans and such.
I would look at the closet organization section of your local Home Improvement store.
You can cover the holes with perhaps some shutters or curtains.
If you have a gap in your countertop, or only one wall, you're much more limited to what you can do.
At that point, it may be cheaper to redo the hole AND the cabinet next to it,
maybe that measurement can be replaced with standard sizes...
A picture would help.
