i just reprogrammed my system to call my cell phone if the alarm goes off. I tested it and it calls my cell 8 times and then gives a trouble light saying it had a problem communicating with the central station. Is that a problem and is there anything else i need to do. All i did was just change the phone numbers that it calls. Thanks.

You need to change the dialer format to a pager format if it's available. Otherwise, the panel looks for "kiss off" tone from the central station, then goes into trouble when it doesn't get one.

What kind of system do you have? You may or may not be able to program it for pager format.
Good luck!

I have a DSC PC1555 system. I don't recall seeing anything about paging mode in the manual.

It's in the section on dialer formats. For a 1555 that would be section 360 of the program (heaven forbid that they put it next to the phone number programming section, or even on the same page...)
