I have been cleaning my breadboard w/lemon juice, but it does need refinishing......

can I just sand it, then oil it for good results?

It is small and probably not worth investing in refinishing products.

Never! Use chemicals on something that food comes into contact with.

You can sand it down with 100 then 150 grit sand paper. I would recommend you use a power sander. Then re-coat it with Butcher Block Oil, Mineral Oil or Salad Bowl Oil. Do not use vegetable, virgin, or any other type of oil, as it can be come rancid.

I wouldn't use lemon oil to clean it either. Lightly clean with anti-bacterial soap. Do not soak! Depending upon usage, recoat often with the above recommended oils
