Hello everyone, I currently own a Hoover Steam Vac Dual V model number F7220-900. I was cleaning my carpet one day and it stopped spraying detergent and water. I switched it to rinse mode and it worked fine only spraying water. For some reason when I switch it to wash mode nothing sprays. I cleaned all the tubing on the vac to make sure there was no clog. The vac is less than a year old. I opened it up and just to see if I find anything but there was no wires disconnected. There are two mini pumps inside the machine. One for clean water and one for detergent. I'm assuming the detergent pump does not work. Anyone else has an idea of what it might be?

Hello, I have also had the same problem and suspected the pump as well. On my unit it was the nozzle on the clean water tank. It is in two pieces and you can pull the center piece down so it will be pushed in by the nipple on the steamvac itself. If you remove the clean water bucket and do not see standing water in the soap resivor this is most likely your problem. Hope this helps and makes sense.

Yeah, I just checked those nozzels. They seem to be working fine. They move freely when you press them in and then pop out when you release them.

The nozzles will move freely. When you place the clean water bucket on the steamvac you should notice air bubbles released in to the detergent container as water drains in to the resivoir and you should be able to see water in the 2 resivoirs after removing bucket because the nipple on the steamvac itself pushes the nozzle up to release water thats why i was saying the nozzle might not be pulled down enough. If you can remove the clean water tank and pour a small amount of water into the area where the nipple is for the detergent. then turn on the unit without the bucket attached and squeeze the trigger, if you can see the water going down this is most likely your problem. Just use a pair of needle nose to slightly pull down the center piece of the nozzle so it will make contact with the steamvac.

That's a really excellent reply. Thanks, Kdemarcus for sharing that info. I know nothing about that machine and was hoping someone would post in with the solution. Sounds pretty logical to me, but knowing where to look is important

Thank you so much for that information. My steamvac spent a week in the repair shop and they couldn't find anything wrong, but with the information in your post I just fixed it myself!!

I knew it was something simple, but just couldn't figure out what it was. It just about drove me crazy. I was afraid to fiddle with the seal on the reservoir for fear of it leaking all over.

I pulled down on the nozzle a little bit too hard....and it came out!
Now I can't figure out in what order to put the parts back in...there is the nozzle, a metal washer, a spring, and a black rubber washer. I have tried nozzle, washer, spring, place it through the hole, then top it with the rubber washer, but I must be doing something wrong...it keeps slipping out.
Help!
