I have a 27" zenith tv that worked perfectly until last time it was turned off. When I tried to turn it back on you could hear a clicking sound in the electronics at the rear of the tv twice and it would not turn on. The tv repair man said I needed a new module (9-958) which I purchased and carefully installed. Now When it turns on I have a horizontal white line and volume controls and channel controls seem to work but that is it. The old threads seem to indicate a vertical output problem? Would that also be on the new module or on the second chipboard beside the newly installed 9-958? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I was recently in a bad car accident and cannot drive so a lot of tv time seems to be in the near future.
Thanks, Rick

My primary suspect would be the fusible resistor (R3242) off of pin 10 of the flyback transformer which supplies the B+ to the vertical IC. It could also be the voltage regulator QX3405 and/or associated components. Good luck

would the resistor you noted on the reply be located on the 9-958 module board or the second board, which is separate and positioned directly beside 9-958 module to the right looking at the rear of the set? This tv is driving me nuts?

It is on the board that you replaced. It should be close to the flyback transformer which is the black transformer with the red wire coming out of the top and going to the back of the CRT.
