hot water heater recalls

A plumber came to do something to my hot water heater today and he said that there was a recall for certain ones for a dip tube. He said that is what is cloggin up my aerators and all. Was there a recall and is that recall still vaild? Any helop would be grewat, thanks

There was a recall however the lawsuit has ended. Sorry. Diptubes are replaceable and you may have to drain and flush your tank to remove what debis is left in it. Good luck.

There was a class action lawsuit, but not a recall. The deadline to recover under the suit has passed. You would have got a new did tube and system flush. It would not be difficult or costly to do those things now.

If you go to the website of your WH manufacturer, you can confirm by serial number if in fact your unit was affected.
