I apologize if this is an FAQ... I searched but didn't find the exact answer.

I know there are extenders for the flange and even the wax ring for when the floor gets built up. I have the opposite problem. I replaced ceramic tile on the floor. Also the flange broke off. The replacement flange with the 'insert' sits about 1/4" above the floor.

Is there a minimum distance between the top of the flange and the toilet?
I screwed the flange down with Tapcon screws. Is there a better or more correct way to do this? I have no problem removing the flange and putting another type , if need be.

Hi Mel,
-try sitting the toilet on the flange with no seal, to see if it sits aboe the floor level. If it rests on the floor you should have no problem re-sitting it with the wax seal in place.
