How do I find this rubber part for my shower door?

I have a stall shower. On the bottom of the door is a chrome lip to catch the drips. Under the chrome lip is a strip of rubber to help seal the bottom of the door. The rubber has torn from the bottom of the chrome lip. The chrome lip removes with 2 screws. I removed the lip and saw that the rubber strip has a small lip that slides into a groove on the chrome piece to hold it in place. Replacement seemed easy.

I brought it to the plumbing store to see if I can buy a new rubber strip or both the chrome lip and rubber together. They could not help me and had no idea what to do. I also don't know who made the door because it came with the house, but it's about 10 years old.

Can you give me some idea what to do? It sure sounded simple.

Thats the problem when something "seems" easy. I would check the weatherstripping area in hardware or big box stores as you may find the same configuration of rubber seal.(made for entrance doors) Our local Ace hardware is really great in helping find the proper materials for the DIYer. Good luck.

I may have had better luck. An on-line plumbing supplier suggested I call Basco since they make a lot of doors. They have a similar kit that I can cut to size for $13.00. I called Basco and got the part number. My local plumbing store doesn't carry them, but another store near my office will order it for me.
