I recently stained the exterior wood to my house the stain i used turned out to be a faulty tin of ronseal one coat stain. It has resulted in leaving a thick oily deposit to the wood surface .Since then every time it rains some of the oil has run down the brickwork and onto the surrounding pathway. So what iam wanting to find out is how do i remove the oil from the wood surface and restain?? i have only tried using turps but no no avail. If the can was truly faulty, and it wasn't a case of applicator error, you need to contact the distributor or manufacturer and have them look at the problem. Hopefully they can solve it.
