:wall: I have an 8hp Craftsman snowblower. I just rebuilt the carb and it is running again. Problem is that it surges a little and won't run very well with the choke all the way off. It is not flooding and starts quite easily now
A little fine tuning specs would help out.
The motor ID starts with 143 and the carb # is 1007-J6P.
Thanks.

Hello
Can't give you any specifics on this engine, but it sounds like you have an air leak in the intake track. Possibly around the carb mount where it attaches to the engine. You can check this with a typical propane torch. Turn propane on without lighting it and go around the intake (between the carb and the engine) If the engine all of a sudden picks up rpms then "bingo" there is your leak.
Hope this helps

Hello Square Head!
If you have a high speed mixture screw under the carb bowl, try backing it out 1/4 to 1/2 turn. This should smooth out the surging. If you have a non-adjustable type, remove the bowl screw and clean out the tiny holes in it.
