Okay obviously not the smartest, painted the walls in my kitchen, they turned out fine. But when I went to do the trim hi-gloss it flicks off. So guess I need to use an oil-based paint, but how do I take off what I've painted so far or do I even have to?? Help please! thanks

Are you saying the trim was painted with a high-gloss? They just needed a light sanding with 320 grit, then wiped clean.

You will need to scrape any loose paint off.

No, you don't need an oil-based paint. The new latex (acrylic) paints are very good.
