I built a 24x30 pole barn, enclosed the walls with stick framing and put together my dream shop. I must have done it right because is held up to Ivan a couple of months ago with NO DAMAGE.
My question is: I want to add a loft for storage to one end of the shop, ten feet out fro the end of the shop spaning the 24' width. What type and size of beam will support the floor joists without needing a center support. I don't want to loose floor clearance with a column.
