What is the absolute minimum I should go for spce betwen ceiling tiles and joists? Thinking abou 2 to 2 and a half inches but may be risky.......Planning to install a drop ceiling in basement and concerned about losing space/height.........the drop ceiling is to allow acces to wiring etc........

Hi Swatts,
-are you having any lights in this ceiling ? If so that will decide the gap. Personally, I've always found it difficult to go less than 3" anyway or it gets very tight to get the tiles in at the end. :cool:
