A long time ago (in a galaxy far----not really) I possessed an air circulator that consisted of a floor base containing an absolutely noiseless fan to which a 2" tube was connected that went to the ceiling. It drew the warm air fromm the ceiling to the base and distributed it (the warm air) to the floor of the room. I have been unable to find anything like it. :wall: Does anyone out there recall these, what they were called, or where one might be found?
I have not seen such thing that a person can buy.. I've seen things made like at malls or shopping centers where they have this large area with high ceilings, and they use this to bring the warm air down.
Do you have forced air heating in your home? Tried to run the fan "ON" all times?
I run ours ON all times to keep the temp even in the whole house and downstairs.

Sorry dont recall the name. But they had a small blower in the top that would hang from the ceiling and a cloth 8" pipe on them that would go down to just off the floor. They where first made for the A frame homes with the very high ceilings. I know we put some in. Have you tried any search for them. Dont know what you have but can you put a ceiling fan up there to do this for you.

Thanks for the reply, however the unit that I am trying to find sat on the floor and had a kind of conical base with four detachable legs, attached to the top of the base was two or three sections of plastic piping that went to the ceiling. The fan was in the base and sucked the air from the ceiling. It was really a cool unobtrusive thing and you almost had to leave a note on the bulletin board so you would rmember to put it away for the summer. It did collapse into a very small manageable package. They were around at the time of the wood stove explosion here in Oregon. I'd say the late seventies. I have spent a couple of hours on the net searching, but have not had any luck. Of course I don't believe in luck, rather, good fortune.

Thank you for your input. I am going to keep searching. (you know how that is, can't sleep until it's solved etc.) I appreciate the "fan on all the time" suggestion and I will see how that works. Great Idea! Why didn't I think of that? Myopia I would guess. You get on one rabbit trail and don't see much else I guess. Thanks again and I will keep looking.
